The Department of Labor (DOL) recently issued a proposed rule that seeks to establish a blanket standard for determining when multiple businesses are considered a “joint employer” of a group of

workers.The proposed joint employer standard, which would apply to the Fair Labor Standards Act, the Family and Medical Leave Act, and the Migrant and Seasonal Agricultural Worker Protection Act, seeks “to address the dearth of departmental regulatory guidance,” on this matter, per a DOL
